Gannets

Gannets are wonderful big birds, so here’s a fact file about them.

Gannets mainly eat sandeels, sprats, herrings and mackerel.                            Gannets are Britain’s largest                                                                                                                                                                               sea bird

Gannets are called gannettries. 

 

    Did you know? a Gannet’s wingspan is around 2 metres.                               

 

 

 

Gannets eat anything that looks like a fish in the water so can end up eating plastic and rubbish that’s been left. A lot of gannet’s nests are made up of half rubbish and half seaweed and grass. This can then mean their chicks get caught up in the rubbish and die.
